Embracing Change

A forward-thinking teacher must think about how to meet the needs of the students of the times in which we live. We see that it is necessary to encourage the student to be interested and ask questions about the content. We must activate curiosity in them and thus create learning based on exploration.

In addition to activating curiosity in students, we must serve as inspiration when presenting learning digitally. In order to achieve this, we as educators must immerse ourselves in technology and in the same way project it to our students. In order to achieve success, we have to foster in students that desire for curiosity and exploration, but above all, having a growth mindset, which will help them immerse themselves in technology and all the changes that it entails.

Education has evolved over the years; we can say even centuries. Nowadays, in the 21st century, we find that education is more personalized and focused on the needs of the student. Also, today we have technology integrated into almost all subjects. In this way, we can help our students put all their knowledge into practice in the classroom.

In the video, "What 60 Schools Can Tell Us About Teaching 21st Century Skills" (TEDx Talks, 2013), we can see the different approaches to education. The highest-performing schools have student-centered learning.

Finally, I definitely believe that in the era we live in, the educator needs to have a growth mindset and be at the forefront of technology. This, together with encouraging curiosity and student-centered learning, will make learning fruitful. In this way, we can create students prepared and full of the necessary tools to face all the challenges of the 21st century.
