What's Your Why

(Nyaledarskapet, 2020)

Why: We believe that by creating a learning experience where students can have experiences in STEM, they can acquire the necessary tools that help them have a clearer vision of the STEM program.

How: Establishing a STEM club using Makerspace areas where students can have diverse experiences that help them have a growing mind towards the future.

What: Cultivate student leaders who have a passion for STEM subjects, work as a team, and know and develop their skills and interests.

Part B: Speak to the hearts

Every day as educators we look for all possible tools to be able to provide the best to our students. Nowadays traditional methods are often not enough to capture their attention.

Over the years I have realized that the focus on STEM in elementary school is very little. Then when students reach 5th grade and are given the option to belong to the STEM group, they have no idea what they are going to find. This is why I understand that encouraging teaching more STEM in elementary school will help these students who are interested in this area in some way to be able to make the right decisions when entering the program.  This serves as a warning to us to take action, lighting the flame of discovering new things from interested parties who long to know a little more about everything that STEM encompasses.

We must appeal to hearts to believe in what we believe can help and in this way be able to propel ourselves to a future full of opportunities where students will not only achieve academic success but will also help them on a personal level; have more confidence when making decisions about what they want to pursue or where they are going.
